Killer Yanta at Large!

A large group of yanta attacked the Bauble estate of prominent magnate Mediolanu Derranat last night.  It is believed that these dangerous constructs were smuggled onto the Bauble in amphorae of wine.  Despite the efforts of armed guests of Derranat and search parties of Harbor Guard, several yanta are believed to have escaped the estate and now the Bauble and may still be within Keltokel.  Suspicious yanta should be reported to the Harbor Guard.

Money-Changing Turmoil

The Past and Present Synod has decreed a censure against the Chamber of Double Silver.  This counting house manages the finances of numerous wealthy citizens and trading concerns of Keltokel, but recently has been accused of lacking ready cash.  Representatives of the Chamber of Double Silver pleaded their case before the Synod, claiming that the loss of an important account drained their coffers.  They claim that censure will weaken the financial standing of Keltokel and leave it open to manipulation by counting houses based in Brandech.  Nevertheless, the Synod has declared their offense to the gods must be expiated by prayer and sacrifice.

Sabotage in Bracken

Large stockpiles of war material were destroyed by unknown forces in the south of Bracken.  The caches were meant to supply the largest mustering of Satrapy forces since the end of the Gate War.  Sources say that this expedition of soldiers was meant to display to outside powers that Alvaro Cambier has solidified his grip on the nation.  The inability to supply a mobile force will only contribute to the chaos plaguing Bracken.  Commander Tahoment has been recalled to Abell, but launched a search for travelers believed to have information about the sabotage.

Word at the Crossroads

My precious birds, it fills my heart with sorrow to see you all scattered so!  The events of Snakewisdom’s soiree presage a dark year for the City of Cities social scene.  Much was made of Mediolanu Derranat’s involvement, but thrilling tales of terrifying beasts beyond the northern horizon that walk like people were the least of the excitement!  Keltokel’s resident recusant ritualist also prepared an Islander seance for a select circle.  Some big names were involved, as well as some unknown travelers (and the 2nd-place performer at the Festival of Apsu’s Welcome, Kuroihire Kasumi).  Those travelers were an unforeseen boon when they defended yours truly (and others) against the marauding yanta that attacked the gala and burned down poor Mediolanu’s estate!  Your beloved raconteur isn’t above eating a little crow (no whispering now, that was only once!) so she must admit that Denis Perfaltec was also a gallant defender of the helpless.  Vaervain Forecold, however?  Maybe leave him off the guest list next time, no matter what the Harbor Guard might say about these mysterious yanta.
