Rats Plague Southreach

Due to the increased and aggressive rat population in Southreach, the Past and Present Synod has announced a bounty on rats.  Rat pelts may be presented to the House of Cycles for a reward of one copper per whole pelt.  Dwellers in Southreach should not touch rats nor belongings fouled by rats.  Those bitten by rats should seek the assessment and blessing of priests of Geb, Lifegiver.

An Emissary of the Tylwyth?

On this day, the Past and Present Synod will receive an emissary of the tylwyth claiming to represent a new permanent settlement somewhere in the borders of Balt.  The Baltine ambassador gave no comment on this assertion but cautioned against Keltokel’s recognition of squatters’ rights on a national scale:  “We praise the tylwyth for their heroism in defeating the soldati invasion, and the treaty of surrender guaranteed their safe passage throughout the nations of the known earth.  We welcome them to live among us, but cannot countenance the seizure of rightfully held land.”

Harbor Guard Maintains Cordon of Tunnels

Following the tunnel collapse in the Stone late on the 2nd of Middle Las, the Harbor Guard has maintained its cordon of the affected areas.  The Guard continues to eject squatters from the unstable areas, and the Past and Present Synod has called for a cleanup of all cliffside dwellings to prevent further loss of life in the event of more collapses.  Rescue efforts are believed to be complete, as no survivors have been found since the 4th of Middle Las.  The known death toll has risen to 80 souls, may the Drowning Girl be merciful.  Flooding in Pumptown has returned to manageable levels.

Playhouse Review

A new performance of Redmane by the famed Stone and Water troupe has sold out gallery space at the Plank Theater.  The new adaptation re-imagines the traditional tale against the backdrop of the Wars in the South.  Performances are being added to meet interest.  The Woolen Stockings troupe has announced they will bid farewell to their long running performances of The Lay of Obel Tower at the Round Theater.  The final performance, to be celebrated with feasting and libation, is scheduled for 12th Middle Las as part of the end of the festival of Apsu’s Welcome.
